Velas Blockchain Migration Announcement
The Velas Blockchain is planned to be upgraded to Velas 3.0 on 19 of April, 2021.
The upgrade includes the following new features:
- Native Space based on eBPF programs (aka Solana stack)
- EVM Space support (aka Ethereum Virtual Machine)
During the migration, the Velas 2.0 network state will seamlessly transition into the genesis state of the EVM Space. Most of the Velas 2.0 apps (wallets, dApps, etc) should continue working as usual under the EVM Space after the transition, as EVM Space bridge RPC maintains backward compatibility with Ethereum APIs.

Depends on how you use the Velas blockchain, you may need to take some actions:
Token Holder
You don’t need to do anything for this migration. Everything remains the same as before, and no additional actions are needed.
Exchange and dApps
Please update your binary if you’re hosting a Velas node and set up EVM bridge. In the instance you use the public explorer.velas.com/rpc no action is required.
Delegator
The delegation dashboard is no longer available in the wallet because of structural changes of the core. Therefore, in the next few months, you will be able to perform your actions via the Command Line Tool.
